Ken has been involved in numerous salvage operations since 1988, these have included operations in South Africa, West Africa, Madagascar, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
Solis Marine’s SCRs have extensive experience working alongside all interests in salvage and wreck removal operations.
SCRs provide an essential service to shipowners, insurers and salvors during salvage operations under the Lloyds Open Form (LOF) where the SCOPIC clause has been invoked, and are specially selected for their expertise by a committee formed of representatives from the International Group of P&I clubs, the International Salvage Union, the International Union of Marine Insurers and the International Chamber of Shipping.
The role of the SCR is to “monitor the salvage services and liabilities and provide a Final Salvage Report which forms the basis for the settlement of any claim for SCOPIC remuneration which the salvor might have against the shipowner.” (Guidelines for Special Casualty Representatives, www.lloyds.com)
