Captain Sanjay Bhasin is a highly experienced Master Mariner with over 18 years’ experience at sea on bulk, general, container and reefer vessels trading worldwide and carrying a variety of cargoes. He was in command for 6 years before coming ashore in 1999.

He is experienced in collection of evidence, investigation of marine accidents and appearing as an expert witness in litigation.

He has investigated and provided expert reports on collisions, unsafe ports and berths, groundings, seaworthiness, cargo loss, shift and stowage, personal injury, charter party disputes, holds condition and cargo-worthiness, due diligence and role of a prudent mariner.

He started his shore career with P&I correspondents in South Africa where he gained extensive experience in investigating casualties and collection of evidence. He subsequently joined the world’s leading cargo insurer as their Marine Loss Control Manager for Africa implementing loss control policies.

In 2007 he joined a leading marine consultancy in the United Kingdom as a Marine Consultant and became a Director in 2012. He joined Solis Marine Consultants as a Director in March 2015.
