Mark is a master mariner having substantial experience in ship to ship (STS) transfers as a superintendent and mooring master in Europe, the Middle East, Far East, USA, Caribbean, Australia and South America. He has also developed training and operations manuals to establish standards for oil major accreditation. This work has involved the piloting of vessels offshore up to 400,000 deadweight, fender maintenance, use of tugs and the training and evaluation of mooring masters both on site and using electronic simulators.

With previous pilotage experience on one of the most demanding river systems in the world Mark has extensive knowledge of ship handling on all types of vessels. His seagoing experience has included suezmax and panamax tankers, coastal tankers, dredgers, AHTS, containers, roll-on roll-off, and ocean going towage.

Recent work has included marine warranty surveying for vessel suitability, loadouts, rig moving and hook-ups offshore. He has also worked as a cargo inspector for oil, gas and chemical tankers.
